In the past, I've cleaned my rub rails with
acetone, but was warned that this would make the vinyl
sticky. In the interests of being safer than sorry
(I do *not* want to have to replace that rub rail that's
embedded in the deck/hull joint,) last year did the
'boat-clean/boat-scrub' thing and found it to actually
be faster and easier than wiping with solvents. As
I recall, at the time I was gushing about it and was
pulling people over to come look at my rub rail.

I just tried Aurora Boat Clean for the first time to
clean the topsides. There was no running water at the
yard at the time, so I sprayed Aurora Boat Clean on
about a 3' x 3' area then wiped it clean with a spare
cloth. It worked very well. Much better than my expectations.
I had the topsides clean in about 3 hours.

I used Aurora Boat Clean on my Trojan, it did a great
job, even cleaned the teak. It's hard to give up Tilex,
but I'm now a believer.

Yesterday I used 'Aurora Boat Clean' and 'Aurora Boat
Scrub' on 1) my filthy vinyl rub rail 2) scuff marks
on the hull and 3) an ugly streak of rust down my topsides
where something had gone into my deck drain and rusted
away inside the hose, letting the rust dribble out
the drain and leave an ugly stain.
This stuff is incredible. My vinyl rub rail had serious
black scuff marks from the boatyard scaffolding I used
during my last haul. It had two layers of masking tape
gunk from leaving the tape on too long in the sun when
varnishing my toe rails. It was yellowed by UV. Your
stuff cleaned it up in less time than it took me to
adjust my dock lines to pull the next section within
reach.
The rust streak down my topsides took about twice as
long to erase. That would be less than a minute. I
might just quit my job and spend the rest of my life
walking docks with a bottle of Aurora Boat Clean and
Aurora Boat Scrub. (Okay, probably not.)
